You should look for an inn with a fireplace for an intimate winter wedding. If your having a larger event, you may be able to book a historic mansion or private club that will still have intimate warmth. Unless you're getting married in a state like Colorado or New York that will have guaranteed snow during the time of your wedding, avoid a room that has a large picture window. You may imagine a backdrop of drifts of beautiful snow, and end up with a gray rainy day!
Be sure to ask if they use any seasonal decorations. You'll save money as many sites are already heavily decorated. Also, check to make sure that your wedding space will be adequately heated during that time. Old churches can be especially drafty during the winter months.
